VSN Honours!!

Well, after participating in VSN, having a wonderful time with my friend Jana in Germany over the weekend stamping away, I had one extra treat!

I was selected for VSN honours!!! Totally blown away by this! Thank you to Kim (nutsymuhl) and Katherine (beadfreak22) who were the hostesses for the challenge.

The challenge was to make a grid like card using only the supplies on our table 'right now'. What a fun challenge! By the end of VSN pratically everything I had brought with me, and my friends scrap drawer was on the table. It was a bit of a streatch to get enough squares out of the right colors of scrap papers, but I found enough in the scrap bin!

I cut small squares out of patterend paper scraps from the Enchante patteren paper (retired) from SU! I then matted onto larger CS squares. Took a large pice of white CS and sponged with mellow moss and always artachoke inks, then matted onto mellow moss and finally so saffron CS. Stamped the saying from Occasional Greetings after coloring with markers, matted on some patterned paper and some perfect plum CS.

Tied some mellow moss taffeta ribbon around, added in some scraps of lavender organdy ribbon, and finally attached the matted saying.

Hope you enjoy!

Masked Valentines

Well I spent VSN weekend with my friend Jana in Germany. We both had a blast with all the challenges, and it was great to visit with her again.

This is the card I made for the VSN Masked challenge. I used Happy Hearts and stamped them with the pallate noire ink on white cardstock, masking each one as I went along. Once the hearts were all stamped, I cut out along the bottom of the hearts, and then trimmed the white cardstock to fit the black card base. Added some wide real red grosgrain ribbon and accented it with some black and white gingham.

I then decided to color in the hearts with the real red marker because the red ribbon just stood out too much.

Hope you like!

SU! Open house in London!

Well, I was able to go to the Stampin'Up! open house in London on Thursday 25th. Had a wonderful time, and got to chat with Shellie - she really is wonderful!

The friend I brought is thinking of signing up - so exciting! She had an absolute blast - my addict in training is what I call her now.

Shellie did a demo with the Sending Happy Thoughts simply sent kit. There were prize drawings for some free sets as well.

We then did two make'n'takes, one using the Unfrogettable set and the second one was a note card using the set Two Cute.

And of course, I had to have my picture taken with Shellie!

Overall, it was a wonderful evening.
