blue birthday card

Well, I got the new garden silloutes level 2 hostess set, and had to play. Making a large (A5) birthday card for a co-worker that is celebrating her 40th was a perfect excuse.

The patterned paper is something I found in my giant stack of patterned paper, and sadly do not know who made it, but it is beautiful!

I stamped the image in so saffron and a nice pale blue to match the patterned paper. Matted on some so saffron paper.

I then dug though my giant basket of ribbons to find a ribbon to match - I think it is scarry that I managed to have some ribbon that matched! That means I either have too much paper, or too much ribbon! Or both!

Finally, stamped the happy birthday on some whisper white paper and punched out with a 1" circle punch, then punched out some patterend paper with the 1.25" circle punch. Finally took one of the amazine silk flowers from the Stampin'Up! pretties kit and sponged some of the pale blue ink onto it.

In the end, a beautiful birthday card for a co-workers 40th that is large enough for everyone in the office to sign.

Pub Wallpaper

OK - I first need to say that I squeeled with delight when I saw the cheers to you set in the UK Stampin'Up catalogue. Obviousley it was on my first order!

Very quick and simple card. The brocade background DS paper reminded me of pub wallpaper. The card base is close to coco. I sponged the edges of the patterned paper with old olive. The image is stamped in chocolate chip on very vanilla paper, and colored in with some old olive and cameo coral markers to accent the olive in the glass.

Tore the bottom, matted on some close to coco cs, tore the bottom of that as well. Tied some chocolate chip taffeta ribbon around, and voila!
